In Episode 5, I had the opportunity to meet and interview Dr. Sandra Torres. She is fighting ovarian cancer as a chingona. She shares her story as a woman, woman of color, mother, partner, sister, daughter, and doctor.

"Every year on May 8th, World Ovarian Cancer Day increases global awareness for this deadly disease. The day also unites those living with ovarian cancer, as well as survivors and their families. In 2018, the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition estimated nearly 300,000 cases of ovarian cancer across the globe."
As part of spreading awareness, Through My Latina Lens, will be featuring two strong ovarian cancer warriors for Episodes 5, 6, and 7.
